Today, I had to make a quick stop before going home from work. I was on my way back to the apartment, and I was thinking to myself how strange it was that I now understand the subway well enough to not have to look up directions on how to get home. And then I got on the uptown C train instead of the downtown C train and ended up at Columbus Circle. Oops!
Today, I looked out my bedroom window and saw boats sailing on the East River. It’s going to be weird to come home and look out my bedroom window and see a cul-de-sac, or worse, the back parking lot (in Columbia). Why are some places so much better than others and why can’t people choose where they want to be born?

I think being born in less than stellar places like Missouri makes us appreciate the fantastic places in the world even more.

Europe.
I know the Midwest isn’t the worst place, but I think it’s silly to live somewhere where you’re not totally happy.

Totes, Amanda. Could not think of what to say without sounding momish. But there are a hell of a lot of places more lame than St. Charles, MO.
But there is also a reason I don’t live there anymore.

Andrew will be happy to see that “totes” is catching on.
I don’t really want to move out of the country, but I did tell Andrew that I would move to Russia with him so long as he buys me season tickets to the ballet every year. My one condition.
